Dear visitors, we would like to introduce to you our new “Map of bike trails in Hlucin vicinity on-line”.

Museum of historical postcards
Let us interduce to you a new project which realization took 15 months and which includes hundreds of old postcards from our vicinity. An author of this project is ing.Petr Šenkypl (bolatice.cz webmaster). Most of the scanned postcards are from private collections and historical funds of the villages in our vicinity.

Vřesina (1 320 inhabitants)
Vřesina is a village with houses built in rows. The village is situated on the right-hand bank of the Poruba stream in ca. 5 km distance from Klimkovice (to north).

Šilheřovice (1 529 inhabitants)
A find of a Neolithic flint hatchet has proved that people had lived in this territory in the late Stone Age. The first written trace of existence of the village is the Deed issued in 1377.

Štěpánkovice (3 100 inhabitants)
The first written trace of the village dated back to 1265. In 1330 the village became possession of St.Klara Monastery in Opava. In 1528 the village became possession of Jan and Vavřinec from Drahotuše na Benešově.

Sudice (660 inhabitants)
The oldest known owner of the village was the Dominican Monastery in Ratiboř. Mikuláš, Prince of Opava, sold Sudice to this Monastery in 1327. In 1330, however, the village was in possession of Jindřich Svojše from Sudice.

Bělá (708 inhabitants)
The first written message about the village is from 1349. The village was in possession of a countryman’s house in 14th and 15th centuries.

Bohuslavice (1 567 inhabitants)
The first written mention of Bohuslavice is from 1288. It belonged to the estate of the mighty house of Kravaře in that time. They were titled „of Bohuslavice“ in one of the house lines.

Bolatice (4 168 inhabitants)
The first written mention about the village is from 1250 in a letter of the Pope Innocent IV who endowed the municipal estate on the Cistercian monastery in Velehrad. The settlement - Borová is a part of the village.

Darkovice (1 200 inhabitants)
The first written mention dates back to 1250. It is a Pope Innocent document, which verifies that the Czech King Wenceslas I presented the village to the Cistercian monastery in Velehrad.

Dolní Benešov (4 412 inhabitants)
The Czech King Vladislav Jagellon’s letter raised it to the town statute in 1493 with market privileges. The town lies on the left bank of the Opava River, between Opava and Ostrava.
